The past week has been all emotion. Times about 30. It has been very strange and trying. And very intense. A boogie to a rock-blues band on Friday night at the local nightclub cleared everything. I felt great. Soaring. Then my weekend was something like this.
Hill End
We went to seek our fortunes
amongst the countryside
and gilded rock
ravished
at
Hill End
In tiny towns the pace slowed
Men ogled and
locals came to
chat to
us
visitors
I drove us round the bend
with my eclipse tears
Premenstrual
frustration
for
Sofala
Then found happiness
whispering in my ear
from behind
Sweet love*
on
a hill.
*Alternative ending:
Love lost
on
a hill.

Is there anything more nourishing to the soul, on a cold winter's night, than spicy home-made vegetable-laden spaghetti bolognese!

(Warning: Some adult themes below)
I have a friend, a male approaching his 40s, single, wanting to meet a life partner. He is looking for a woman who is "innocent" in the ways of men - someone relatively inexperienced and who in not awakened in her sexuality. He thinks a woman like this will be less likely to cheat. I do not know if he wants her to expand her sexuality with him or if he hopes it will stay dormant.
A question, Do y'all also find "innocence" appealing in a partner? How about inexperience?
I find the opposite much more attractive. I want to experience and learn all that I can. In all areas of life. People who can offer me knowledge and wisdom are very appealing. Those that are on a quest to learn along with me are ones I can relate to.
Most of my friends are older or fairly mature. But I have been disappointed to discover that answers are not bestowed on people simply because they age and often I learn the most from children.
I am of the belief that if my friend helps awaken the sexuality of his partner, it will develop of its own accord. But he could end up unleashing a beast. He wants to control it. He thinks a less experienced woman will be sweet. But will she be sweet still after she is experienced? Will she be "innocent"? It leaves a lot to chance. My thought is that after you've tested the waters a few times, you have more of an idea of what you want. With a woman who's been "around the block", he would have more of an idea of what he was getting.

The Gymnast Performs a Cartwheel
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Right foot, right hand, left hand, left foot, right foot
She counts the steps
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
The perfectly performed cartwheel
Forms in her mind
Before even a flicker of movement
And practiced
Over and over
And over
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
A seemingly simple manoeuvre
She learns this cartwheel early on in the training
Trying again and again
Until the move is mastered
At home, for family and friends
It is a game
To act the part and always improve
So that it becomes ingrained
Never to be forgotten
To perform a cartwheel
Visualise the straight line on the ground
Take a deep breath, ignore nerves, tighten tummy
Smile and present to the judges
Arms up, straight, fingers likewise, lengthen torso
Shift weight to left foot, legs straight, right toes pointed, tighten bum
Place right foot, point left toes
Eyes pick out the landing and watch
Hands fall in a line, fingers splayed, arms straightened
Now upside-down, lengthen torso
Legs straight, toes pointed, tighten bum
Left foot lands
Right foot lands bringing legs together, straighten legs, tighten tummy
Smile and present to the judges
Make it look effortless
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Seven years of cartwheels
Backflips, somersaults, leaps, full twists
Bars, floor, vault, beam, trampoline
A constant while the rest of her life changes
Seven years of being strengthened, toughened, challenged
Stretched
Moulded
Masking hurts
Seven years of doing what is required
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Flying through the air
Flying into puberty
And turmoil
It ends in a flash -
The decision of a parent unhappy with her school report card
Her years of training backfire
She shows no emotion
She asks no questions
She has been learning Olympic moves
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Right foot, right hand, left hand, left foot, right foot
She counts the steps
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
And now performs cartwheels for fun
Gymnastics is part of her identity
Having shaped her mind, body, life
A face to show the world
The medals and memories forever stored
In her flesh

I can now say that I have been to a party where people really were swinging from the rafters.

It's cold

Colleague - Your face looks different, it looks pretty, what've you done?
Me (ignoring the unintended insult) - Make-up?
Colleague - You should do that more often!
Several others commented how healthy I looked.
Later, I realised the return of the gypsy lover and his charms could have something to do with it.

I tend to be quiet in a large group, can be chatty one on one or with people I know. At times I prefer to sit and observe. I don't feel comfortable speaking out until I know a person/group. But then when I do get more comfortable I have the affliction of blurting things out that I shouldn't.
If I've done that online, I apologise.

Hi everyone,
There will be a garage sale on Saturday at my place. (If you're going to come, let me know and I'll e-mail you my address and the directions).
A bit embarrassing really, but because of my current situation (debts, living expenses, etc.) I'm finding it a bit difficult with money at the moment. I've decided to have a garage sale and hopefully I'll make some bucks.
Desperate times call for desperate measures!! I am sure that I will get out of this mess sooner or later but in the meantime, ya gotta do what ya gotta do!!
I've taken a photo of my stuff, if you see anything you like, please let me know as soon as possible so I can save it for you, assuming the price is right.
Hope you can make it!!
More info in the attachment below.

I have been working all day. Just got home.
It's not like I expect dinner to be waiting for me on the table... (though it would be nice)
It's just... things around BigBlog are getting curiouser and curiouser.
*Sigh* There's no place like home.

I received the massage owed to me a few days ago. I was so happy afterwards I suddenly felt like skipping down the street. Then I stopped when I saw people watching. Then I started again because I I just had to skip for joy until I got puffed. I felt a huge load was lifted off my shoulders.
I am still on my own. Distance does not make the heart grow fonder this time... distance helps the heart forget.
I cannot get warm and cosy in my bed and am not sleeping well. I can't get to sleep because I am cold and then wake up cold during the night and am awake with cold feet in the morning. I really need a hot water bottle for when the boyfriend is not around.
I sometimes wish I had chosen a more anonymous web persona here.
I came to BigBlog in part to start a healthier lifestyle, to utilise the unmetered usage that came with my lowly 1Gb plan, and some part of me wanted to escape a bad habit. Quite by accident I found it here amongst the rabble... as if it were waiting for me... my past come back to haunt me... it doesn't feel healthy and I'm not sure what to do about it - whether to stop blogging or move to a new blogosphere or just accept it.
I ran into two ex's in the same week. One had not changed which is much of why we split up in the first place. I'd forgotten the sound of the other's voice and was shocked to hear it. I don't have any more exes here to run into.
A month or so ago I went to a poetry reading that turned out to be a competition that you had to pre-register to enter... so I was unable to read - luckily as there were quite some rules involved - but sat and watched and listened. I was sooooo impressed by the people that got up and read their poems. There are so many talented people around the place. It's great to see people being creative and giving it a go. I'm hoping to be prepared for the event next year.
I have poems half-started all over the place. It's driving me a bit nuts. The most frustrating is one I started about 5 yrs ago. I've worked out a great rhythm for it and am convinced it will be great... I just have not actually written the guts of it.
Ladies (and some men), please don't wear make-up when you have a facial. Or at least don't wear much. Make-up removal cuts into your allocated time. And men, there will be more sensation and easier product application and removal if you are clean-shaven. Or think of the therapist and wait a few days till your face is not so prickly. Same goes for those that shave their legs - prickly is bad for massaging.
It grosses me out when I find spreads such as margarine and honey contaminated with crumbs and globs of other spreads. It's not hard to estimate how much you actually need or wipe the knife first!
I sat too close to the heater one evening. My lower back and hip went blotchy from the burn and have not yet returned to normal flesh colour.
I keep getting private or anonymous missed calls on my mobile from people that don't leave messages. It pisses me off. I'm trying to visualise receiving pleasant calls instead.
I made some early posts invisible. Is there any way to un-draft them without the date changing them to recent posts?
I made a sweet recently. Currant Slice. Organic, sugar-free, wholegrain, vegan yet surprisingly sweet and tasty. Friends and family polished it off in a flash.
Shhhhh... don't tell 'em it's healthy!
All these interesting tidbits inevitably make one seem so much less interesting.
Over and out.
